Daniel Rode

Born in 1967, French designer Daniel Rode graduated in interior architecture and design from École Boulle in Paris. He began his career in the fashion world, designing luggage, bags, and accessories between China and Hong Kong. This initial experience already informed his perspective on the forms, materials, and functionality of objects.

In 1992, he opened his own design studio in Paris and gradually shifted his creativity towards interior architecture and furniture. A few years later, in 1999, he moved to Italy, where he founded Rode Design s.r.l. This move marked an important step in his journey: there, he asserted a more personal language, at the heart of the creative process, balancing functional rigor, formal research, and expressive freedom.

Daniel Rode's work is distinguished by a sculptural and ergonomic approach to furniture. His creations pay particular attention to the human body, comfort, and use, while exploring soft, intuitive, and sometimes unexpected forms. His pieces express a singular balance between realism and poetry, between solidity and dreamlike lightness.

Collaborating with renowned houses such as Roche Bobois, Daniel Rode conceives objects that are both functional, expressive, and elegant. His universe is characterized by strong lines, enveloping volumes, and a subtle play of materials. Awarded several international distinctions, he embodies a contemporary vision of design that is sensitive, human, and deeply creative.
